Family Partnership Team

All parents and/or guardians are automatically members of your Head Start site's Family Partnership Team and are encouraged to be active members. The meetings will be held during a time that is convenient to the majority of the parents. Childcare can be provided during the meetings and transportation will also be provided, if needed. However, arrangements must be scheduled ahead of time by contacting your family advocate.

Election of Committee Officers are held at the very first meeting. You will elect a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and a Secretary. These officers will lead your family partnership team and represent your group at Policy Council. During regular meetings you will help plan many exciting activities for yourself and for your child, including field trips, parties, and site activities. You will also be able to choose topics for training that can be held during your parent meetings. Oftentimes, these meetings will include sharing food together, making a craft, or learning a new skill.

All parents/guardians and volunteers are required to get a limited criminal background check. This includes parents chaperoning on field trips. Head Start will provide a limited background check.
